Indo Count will launch 20 bed linen sets under the Sanderson, Harlequin and Scion brands at a trade in show in New York in September. Walker Greenbank said the company has strong relationships with American department stores. It manufactures high quality textiles in India and distributes them straight to the US.
Mumbai-based Indo Count has a design studio and Showroom in New York and a warehouse in Charlotte, North Carolina. It also has showrooms in India, Melbourne, and Manchester. In the UK it supplies bed linen to major retailers.
"This exciting licensing agreement with Indo Count represents a significant opportunity for the Sanderson, Harlequin and Scion brands in the US bedlinen market,” said chief executive John Sach.
“We look forward to working with Indo Count, which is an established and high quality supplier to major US department stores and retailers. Indo Count's first Walker Greenbank bed linen ranges will be launched in New York this autumn - the same time that Sperry, the US footwear brand, will be launching its first shoe ranges under its licensing agreement with Sanderson."
In June Walker Greenbank reported a fall in total brand sales in the first quarter due to flooding in its fabric business in December 2015. Brand sales fell 3% year on year, as 6.7% decline in the UK offset 2.6% growth abroad.
Shares in Walker Greenbank rose 3% to 171.5p at 1548 BST.
