The company won the accolade at the Small Cap Awards in London, which recognises the best companies and participants in the small cap community.
The category was judged by a panel from small cap businesses, which based the winner on the success of the raise in setting a price that was beneficial for the company and its investors, the quality of the company, its overall operational performance and its share price performance since listing.
Bilby was listed in March last year at 58p per share and is trading today at 125p. The company has grown since acquiring three businesses as part of its buy and build strategy.
Deputy executive chairman Phil Copolo said: “We are delighted that Bilby has been named IPO of the Year. This award reflects the quality and hard work of all of our employees across the business.
“Bilby remains focused on creating value for all of our stakeholders as we continue to take advantage of growth opportunities in our market.”
Nick Taylor, chief executive of Waterman Group, a consultancy, was also named executive director of the year at the award ceremony.
