The UK publisher, best known for its Harry Potter books, said Spotify would publish the 33 1/3 series in various formats exclusively through its streaming service.
Bloomsbury has produced more than 130 of the 33 1/3 titles, which focus on a single music album in each book. Albums covered range from Blondie’s 'Parallel Lines' to 'Hangin’ Tough' by New Kids on the Block. Bloomsbury said the deal with Spotify would help the series reach more pop fans.
Nigel Newton, Bloomsbury’s chief executive, said: "This is an exciting opportunity for our authors to reach a whole new audience. It is one of a number of partnerships which Bloomsbury is successfully seeking out with the world's most ground-breaking companies to expand our digital offering."
