Fatality at Serabi Gold's Sao Chico project in Brazil
Exploration and production company Serabi Gold on Wednesday confirmed the death of an employee at its Sao Chico Mine in Brazil.

The AIM-traded company said the fatality was caused by an accident relating to the operation of an underground loading machine and that all relevant authorities, including the police, had been notified and would be cooperated with by the company.
Mike Hodgson, chief executive of Serabi Gold, said: "It is with great sadness that we announce a fatal accident at our Sao Chico mining operation during the weekend. I join with all of my colleagues and fellow directors in expressing our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."
After the accident, production has now recommenced at the site, and Serabi Gold said the company is supporting the family of the accident victim.
Sao Chico is one of five projects that the company operates in Brazil and is located near the town of Jardim do Ouro in the north eastern state of Pará.
As of 1105 BST, Serabi Gold’s shares were down 3.85% at 62.50p.
