Independence was incorporated in May 2000 and focuses on discovering gold and nickel ore bodies in Australia. The company became a nickel producer since its acquisition of the Long Nickel Mine in late 2002 since when it has used the cash flow from the mine to fund dividend payments and its exploration and mining activities.
