All eyes over the coming week were expected to continue to be on the US and European banking sectors and to what extent, or not, calm returned to the sector.
Shares in Europe gave back part of the prior day's bounce going into the weekend amid ongoing jitters around banks and as investors continued to closely monitor developments in the sector.
