Deltex launches first ODM system for veterinary use

The AIM-traded firm said the ODMV+ monitor was based on the CardioQ-ODM+ platform and was accessed via the specially-designed K9 probes.

It said the probes were designed for smaller animals such as dogs and cats and allowed multiple uses for a period of 30 days, providing an attractive per-case billing model for veterinary practices.

Deltex was planning the marketing launch of the new system for the annual meeting of the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee in September, and in the meantime it was promoting the system to existing contacts.

“We are delighted to have made our first sale of the ODMV+ system simultaneously with its release,” said chief executive Ewan Phillips.

“ODM is ideally suited for use in animals who tend to have high degrees of haemodynamic instability during surgery and in critical care.”

Phillips said the company had a “small number” of other customers already interested in the system, and expected to generate further interest after the market launch at IVECCS at which there would be presentations from a number of experts who had been working with Deltex on developing the ODMV+.

“Our medium term goal is to develop the veterinary business to a stage where it is sold through specialist distributors.”
