"We have decided to operate nearly all routes by September to have a fully-fledged offer for personal and business travellers," the head of the airline’s network management Heiko Reitz was quoted as saying.
The vaccine rollout and the introduction of Covid-19 passports had already stoked a jump in demand for summer flights.
With optimism on the rise, Lufthansa decided to double the use of Boeing 747s on its routes in July.
A total of 239 flights with the Boeing 747 were scheduled for June. Already during the summer the figure has risen for the month of July, increasing Boeing participation in the operations by 85%.
The German carrier currently has a fleet of 193 aircrafts of different sizes.
