Trump ready to return to normal schedule, chief-of-staff says
The US President is now ready to return to his normal schedule, his chief-of-staff said.
In remarks to FOX News on Monday morning, Mark Meadows said that the White House was "optimistic" that Donald Trump would be discharger from the Walter Reed military hospital.
That decision would not be taken until later on Monday morning, he reportedly added.
"We're still optimistic that, based on his unbelievable progress [he will be discharged]," Meadows said.
Trump's condition had reportedly continued to improve overnight.
Meadows said Trump’s condition continued to improve over the night and “the doctors will have an evaluation sometime late morning.”
“Obviously this is an important day. The president continues to improve and is ready to get back to a normal work schedule."
