US oil product stockpiles fall in latest week, DoE says
US oil inventories registered another sharp increase in the latest week, but accompanied by equally large drawdowns in those for oil-products.
Commercial stockpiles of crude oil in the States grew by 3.5m barrels to reach 507.6m in the week ending on 19 February, according to the Energy Information Administration, the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy.
However, total gasoline inventories fell by 2.2m barrels while those of distillate fuel and propane/propylene declined by 1.7m and 3.7m, respectively.
Imports of crude oil decreased by 117,000 barrels per day from the previous week, the EIA said in a statement.
