De La Rue inked an agreement with Nairobi to base one of its Centres for Excellence in the East African country following the creation of a joint-venture between the two. The facilities of the JV, employing about 290 people locally, would supply both the domestic and export markerts, De La Rue said in a statement.
Lonmin managed to clinch project financing for its Bulk Tailings Treatment Project, which analysts said would allow the miner to add low-cost production as it progresses on restructuring the business. An unnamed party agreed to provide the platinum producer with $50m through a project finance metal streaming arrangement.
Aminex received first payment for the gas produced from its Kiliwani North-1 well in Tanzania. As per the agreement with its client, the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation, it was paid in US dollar and in accordance with the Company's Gas Sales Agreement with TPDC.
Shares in Galasys, which provides ticketing systems to amusement parks in Asia, were suspended on Thursday following the resignation of the company's nominated adviser and broker,WH Ireland. Galasys provided no reason for the resignation but said shares were suspended on AIM with immediate effect.
AIM-listed EG Solutions said on Thursday that its partner Aspect Software Inc. has closed a three-year contract with an unnamed social networking corporation to supply EG's back office optimisation software. The initial contract is valued at $1m, with up to 4,000 licences being deployed over the next three years. EG said professional services revenues will start to be recognised immediately and licences will begin to be deployed from December 2016, with the potential for further licences to be sold in future.
